Grab your favorite fruit, your favorite yogurt – maybe some granola or flaxseed – and, boom: breakfast in jar!

Make-Ahead Fruit & Yogurt Breakfast Parfait

Recipe: Iowa Girl Eats What you need
  • 6 ounces Greek yogurt
  • ⅓ cup old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons low-fat or skim milk (almond, cow, soy)
  • 1 cup frozen mixed fruit and berries
How to make it In a bowl combine yogurt, oats, chia seeds and milk. Stir then layer half in a wide-mouth Mason jar or container. Add half the fruit and berries, layer remaining yogurt mixture and berries. Refrigerate up to three days.

Feta Cobb Salad

  • 3 teaspoons of your dressing of choice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped avocado
  • 8 grape tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cucumber
  • Few handfuls of romaine lettuce and baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped feta
  • 1 boiled egg, chopped
  • 2 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
How to make it Layer all items in order starting with the dressing, seal lid. Keep a fork and napkin handy. Mix it up: Add 6-8 cooked shrimp or 1 small chicken breast, diced

Lazy Lasagna

  • 12 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 1 pound ricotta
  • 1 egg
  • 1 handful Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups favorite marinara sauce
  • 12 (8 ounce) wide-mouth mason jars
How to make it Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and add back to the pot. Mix in 2 cups of sauce. In a bowl mix together ricotta, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt and mozzarella. Fold cheese mixture into the noodles, stir lightly. Place in greased jars, top with the remaining sauce, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 35 minutes.
